Wow, this book started off fast! So many things are going on.... So many different characters and so many different perspectives.
First and foremost I feel HORRIBLE for Zan. The fact that Ruby and some other person has kidnapped her Matthew is bad enough. But now, for some reason, two years later they are not going on about their business, but they bring everything back to the fore front and if that weren't enough, they are framing Zan for the kidnapping. Now Zan doesn't know up from down. She is second guessing herself along with everything else.
My favorite character is Alvirah, and hopefully she sticks with Zan all the way through out. Right now Alvirah is convinced that the picture had to have been photoshopped, and wants to help Zan out.... whereas everybody else is about to jump ship and blame Zan for everything.
The babysitter is the one that is frustrating me the most right now (maybe that's just because that was one of the last chapters) but the fact that she could so quickly try and make her story out to be that Zan did do it is ridiculous. Nobody would be in this position if the babysitter wouldn't have fallen asleep in the first place.
What are you guys thinking?!?!
Let's see if third time's a charm. Have redone my Google Account and hopefully that will work. Couldn't even copy and paste so I'm starting again.
ReplyDeleteYes, this book is fast pacing, very interesting with may characters that are coming out of the pages at a quick pace. Fr. Aiden who had the mysterious woman confess to knowingt about a crime about to happen with a man trying desperately to overhear what had been said.
I love Alvirah, she is so aware and astute to everything and everyone around her. She is loyal and faithful to Zan regardless of what others are printing about her or saying about her. Zan of course is going through and has been going through unthinkable, terrible times with the 'loss' of Matthew. She still blames herself (with the help of her ex) about hiring the young baby sitter who managed to fall asleep while she was supposed to be 'watching' Matthew. And now, she's diverting blame and negligence away from herself and putting the attention on Zan - with the notion that she kidnapped her own child.
There's Penny (a friend of Alvirah's through the lottery winners' club), Rebecca (Penny's friend and real estate agent), of course Gloria who is very suspicious and abrupt with her interactions).
Poor Matthew, it seems that he still somewhat remembers his mom, being moved from place to place, hiding in closets (if that's who the little boy is with 'Glory'.
Can't wait to read more and find out if the babysitter, is involved, how it will go with Zan, will the photo be found out it is photoshopped????
Keeping fingers crossed this will work this time.
