WOW!!! It started exactly where we left off. I am glad to find out that Salander is OK. I am just wondering if all of her skills were left in tact... hacking, mathematical, etc. I was concerned during the whole first section that Zalachenko would come on over to Salander's room and kill her.... but wow, on the contrary (and I totally did not see this coming, so early in the book), Zalachenko got killed!!!! Apparantly the Section's secret is more important to keep than Zalachenko. I had no idea that would even be on the table. Because of the rashness of the murder of Zalachenko, it really makes me fear for all of those involved in Bjork's documents.
Bomkvist, as always, is doing what he does best; investigating. I am over Berger and Blomkvist's relationship, so I am glad Berger is moving on... but I doubt that will be the end of her.
So, what's to come with this book? At what lengths is the Section willing to go to keep everything under wraps. How many more deaths are to come? And are we really going to see Blomkvist and company take on the government of Sweden to figure out what this is all really about?
Things do seem to be moving quickly. I was worried about Zalencho as he wanted to get rid of Salander. So was actually glad to see he was eliminated. That threat to Salender is off the table. Now it is the Sapo group we need to worry about. They bugged phones, offices, homes and stole the documents on Salander. Thank goodness, Blomkqvist is on the ball and had a copy for Armansky which is now the only existing copy for them to work with. So they got rid of Zala, Bjork and Salander is next. The attack of Blomkqvist's sister was a tip off to him that things are more complicated and makes him be more on his toes. So he has figured out that the places are bugged as well as the phones.
ReplyDeleteAm worried about Ronald Niederman, the blond giant. He is on the run and has already killed more people. Another concern is that Nieman who was released from jail and now wants to go after Salander cause she was able to beat him up and humiliate him. He's one to watch. It wouldn't bother me if he got rid of Ronald NIederman.
Berger leaving Millenium wasn't as bad as she feared and the Millenium crew along with Mikael seem to adjust ok without her. WE'll see how that all goes in the long run.
Glad to see that she is improving and as you said, Jennifer, she has all her faculties except for the severe headaches. Hope that will subside as she gets better. Right now she seems vulnerable but at least the right people believe in her innocence regarding the murders.
Am anxiously reading the next section to see what develops. Can Blomkvist take on this organization that operates on its own(Sapo) and prove what he believes is the reason for all of Salander's problems? Hope so.
